on and on and on.

lessee, tuesday was painful miles
wednesday was an easy 25 minute run, weights, a meeting, another meeting, and work until 10
thursday was the kids racing, then i did a night run of 45 minutes.
friday, hour:06 run, say 8.5 miles?
saturday, rest
sunday, 2:20 run, somewhere from 16-18 miles. I figure 17.

So something like 41 miles for the week.

I'm on a rushed plan to run portland marathon in a month. only mildly rushed, but I'm being pretty good with my rest days.

school is good.

Did you register? Website shows only like 200 spots left.

How's the knee holding up?

Last 20+ miler for me this weekend. Looking forward to the taper.

Dammit Luke! Your blog would be more fun to read if you went out and got one of those GPS running units. I want to know exactly how far and exactly how fast!

i'm watching the web page. i got a variety of aches and pains going right now: i'd planned on doing my last long one in 2 weeks, a little unconventional, but this is a pretty insane-o deal anyway. knee is basically fine-ish. hip muscles sore from the mile repeats yesterday... i'm shooting for a 3-3:30 finish, with no real expectations. i've basically gone from generic coach training for 5kms and getting ready for ski season... to wtf, howbout hood to coast and a quick crash course marathon plan? so, we'll see.

I had a similar rushed plan for my first marathon last Oct. Was training for my first half (and first race in years), but decided about 6 weeks out to go for the full. 2 20 milers in that last 6 weeks, went in just hoping to go under 3:30 with a dream of 3:15. All worked out pretty well with a 3:19.

#2 in May qualfied me for Boston. #3, weel, we'll see next month.

From what I read, 2 weeks out of the last long one is preferred by many. You're way faster than me at this short stuff and have more of a running background, so I'm sure you'll be fine. If you aint't aching, you ain't training.

And yes, I do worship at the temple of Garmin.

thanks 4chi. your kind thoughts, I'm pretty sure you'll crush me in portland.

i got a running partner, and our plan is to go out at 7:45 or 8's, and race in if we're feeling frisky at mile 18. we're in it for the shirt.

just for a lark.

that said, i'm doing my work... that said, time for a training update. time to piss off the random high school and young college students who don't want to hear from some old sockeye vet
