Is "Solstice" what the kids are calling Potlatch these days? Or do we have two write-ups to look forward to?
actually, i did go to both. but i was thinking of potlatch. and just for the record, when was the last time you heard me say, well, i was feeling frisky after solstice so i just had to go to potlatch... we're just one delusion away from me saying, 'well it's a real shame they're not having ECC this year, because with the way i've been playing, i could pretty well write my own ticket.'
Sorry to be slow to reply, I missed your reply and then thought to look when you hit my RSS feed again.
I dunno when the last time I heard you say that, but I'm happy to hear the friskiness in your author's voice. Too bad it presaged this current bout of the black death.
i'm on the mend, but my frisbee season is coming to a close: i've got some mystery ankle ailment. i think it's call 'geriactricness' my ankles are a science experiment. but i've got the next 3 weeks off from frisbee (which is good.. b/c i.. can't... not... play...)
it's one of those thangs that's a 'hurt' not an 'injury' and unlike when i played in seattle, i refuse to medicate with advil.
that said, in what has to be one of the great ironies of life, my game shorts (underarmor) are starting to pill from all the times i've laid out.
yes, that's bizarre...
but, i think a few weeks of biking, running, and biking, will give my ankles the rest they need, and i might even play fall league.
i keep saying to myself:
'at somepoint, it's Ok if i just don't play, right?'
it's the coaching: it's a small version of what parents must see, where you see the joy and freshness of it all when you want to play for fun.
